      Leading the teams

      • Lead engineering across two regulated product lines, KFI (P2P lending) and KTI (core banking for rural banks), and mentor engineers through regular 1:1s.
      • Led a cost-saving initiative that cut server costs by 50% on KFI and 25% on KTI through resource usage optimisation and the migration from AliCloud to GCP.
      • Introduced design and planning documentation that covers system design, security, and regulatory considerations, reducing implementation inaccuracies across both product lines.
      • Lead architecture and design reviews, and negotiate scope, timelines, and priorities with product and business stakeholders across both product lines.
      • Represented engineering in annual ISO 27001 audits since 2022, with no major findings in any cycle.
      • Prepared data and answered auditors’ questions on our systems and controls for OJK regulatory audits.

      Hands-on technical work

      • Migrated the production MySQL database from AliCloud to Cloud SQL myself using Database Migration Service with CDC replication: set up and tested replication over several days, cut over with under one hour of downtime, then traced and fixed transaction and connection leaks in the application layer.
      • Designed KFI’s data warehouse on BigQuery with CDC ingestion and layered Dataform models, so analytics and regulatory reporting compute the same metrics from one set of definitions.
      • Handled a security incident on a self-hosted internal tool by isolating it, assessing the damage, and recovering service, then tightened security further and deployed Wazuh for ongoing security monitoring.
      • Migrated MongoDB off an end-of-life managed instance to a self-managed deployment.

      • Mentored engineers into senior and tech lead roles through regular 1:1s and sat on the hiring panel for new engineers; three of four teams reached roughly 80% day-to-day independence.

      • Joined the core banking team on-site at a client bank for a week-long pre-deployment migration run, troubleshooting migration issues in the field.

      • Stabilised and scaled the platform’s automated money-movement flow, cutting transaction error rates by 65%.

      • Rewrote the legacy .NET back-office system in TypeScript, with NestJS on the backend and React on the frontend.
      • Migrated the platform to GCP while running it in parallel with AliCloud through the transition.
